Did you know that there are close to 6,000 Greek islands and islets?

Syros is an island after my own heart with it’s relaxed charm, pastel colored building structures, performing arts, and little crowds.

I’ve only lived in the Greek isles for about 3 months, and I already can tell that Syros is quite the hidden gem. The island is the capital of the Cyclades Islands and is a 3 hour ferry ride from Santorini.

Spreading my wings and flying with the anticipation of trying something new was instilled in me at a very young age thanks to my mom. It means a lot to me when people twice my age tell me that I have inspired them to take extreme chances and travel beyond borders.

With that said, traveling to another country for leisure with the knowledge of a return is one thing. However traveling with a one way ticket is a whole new reality check.

Do you remember the way you felt when you finally moved abroad?

I recently arrived in Santorini, Greece after 16 hours of flying and layover time. Many Greeks were celebrating the resurrection of Christ at 12AM, which was 1 hour after my arrival. The festivities, were quite a sight a to see with many fireworks, singing, and church attending.
