The Truth About My One-Year Anniversary of Living Abroad in Greece
Have you ever lived abroad?
Today marks my one-year anniversary of living abroad in Santorini, Greece!
I can’t help but think back to three years ago when I first came to this island on a solo trip. I probably would have looked at you quite puzzled if you had told me then that I would one day get to experience living and working abroad in Santorini.
Honestly speaking, I was in search of something different when I took that trip but didn’t quite understand how to live in two countries.
Today, I am living proof that prayers get answered and dreams do come true.
Overall, I appreciate the change of scenery that Greece has given to me because living in Santorini truly feels like being in a postcard.
However, looks aren’t everything and I have missed the overabundance of offerings that the New York area has to offer. Somedays, I wake up and just don’t feel like trying hard. These moments have helped me appreciate more about where I come from and the liberties that I often took for granted.
Travel has a way of growing you up and broadening your horizons in ways that you can’t quite put into words.
I’ve been teaching English online to students in South Korea and Latin America for one year now and recently took the leap and started my own online teaching company. This is a great way on how to make money as an expat.
My experience moving to another country completely piqued my interest in becoming an entrepreneur. Now I have even more confidence that I am exactly where I am supposed to be.
Today, the change of seasons and the beautiful sun rays have awakened my wanderlust once again. I’m eagerly anticipating my next trip. Greece provides convenient access to Africa, it’s gorgeous surrounding islands, the Middle East, and not to mention the rest of Europe (as in Paris😁).
Post COVID-19, I ‘ll be ready to get back out there, explore, and continue to share my journey abroad with you.
Please share if you have any suggestions!
